FREE Pop-up Sports & Fitness Classes

SSEN Community FundBadge

Thanks to the SSEN Transmission Community Benefit Fund we are pleased to announce the Village Hall will host a series of FREE Pop-up Sports Sessions and Fitness Classes. So why not try something new. 

Following our highly successful Introduction to Pickleball sessions in the hall this October with Pickleball Scotland Ambassador and Coach Stuart Turnbull. Stuart will return in November to run a FREE Pickleball Skills session. ​​​​

If you would you be interested in playing Pickleball, then please get in touch (by clicking the red envelope icon). We are hoping to set up some mixed group sessions in the hall.

We have a selection of FREE Adult only Pop-Up classes with Laura Oswald from FitVibe in October and November. So why not try something new. We have:

DrumIt  - A fun filled fitness class, using drumsticks to drum to the beat while you get the body moving. Low impact and a great way to improve your fitness, co-ordination and rhythm!

FitSteps - love Strictly? then why not try FitSteps a dance workout where you can learn all your favourite dances.​​

PureStretch -  a fun flexibility class for all fitness levels, designed to get you moving and stretching! â€‹

Barre is a high intensity, low impact strength workout that sculpts and tones the whole body. It has roots in Pilates and ballet – but it is not a dance class! Why not try one of Holly's FREE Tuesday morning classes.

This class is for Adults only.

Zumba Gold is perfect for beginners and all ages (>12 years) as it recreates all the original moves but at a lower-intensity. The class will introduce easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Why not join one of our FREE Sunday afternoon classes with Susan in November.

New sports equipment for the hall

Thanks to the SSEN Transmission Community Benefit Fund we have been able to purchase a new competition level (and accessible) table tennis table and 4 bats and a pickle ball net and 4 paddles for the hall. We've also bought a new badminton net and had our rackets updated with new grips thanks to some knowledgeable volunteers.​​

​To use the kit, simply ask at the time of booking the hall and we'll make sure you know where it's stored, how to set it all up and put it away. We've also got some handy guides to help you out if you're trying it for the first time and don't worry, we've got balls and shuttlecocks too.​​

​​We'll also be offering a few discounted off-peak sports hire slots in the Hall over the summer holidays for local residents. Make sure to follow us on Facebook to keep up-to-date.

Car Park Upgrade

Thanks to Tayside Contracts we have had our car park lined.  The works were covered by funding from Tayside Contracts Community Fund.​

We now have a new blue badge space by the rear ramp and a further 19 parking bays in the Hall Car Park. There is also clearly marked no parking areas to ensure the field gate and the hall fire evacuation routes are kept clear.

​You will also see the car park entrance clearly labelled now as a Private Car Park and there is new signage in place. This is not a change of Hall Policy, just drawing people's attention to the conditions of use that have been in place for many years.

New tables for the hall

Thanks to two recent grants, £1900 from Fossoway & District Community Council Community Benefit "Hydro" Fund and £1900 from the Kinross-shire Fund administered by Foundation Scotland along with £515 from funds raised through the Crook of Devon Village Hall 100 Club. The hall has 20 new lightweight aluminium framed folding tables. The tables are of equal depth and height allowing them to be used to create many flexible seating arrangements. These new tables replace our aging and heavy 6ft tables in the hall. The old tables have been kept and while they still repairable will be available for the Community to continue to borrow.​​

Rumbling Bridge Hydro Community Fund administered by Foundation Scotland.

Thanks to the Rumbling Bridge Hydro Community Fund administered by Foundation Scotland they have generously awarded us £9500 which will go towards further upgrades to the Hall roof.

RETRO DISCO

Thank you to everyone, who supported the Disco on the 15th November. Thanks to your generosity we raised over £1000 which will go towards maintaining and upgrading the hall and it's facilities.

Perth & Kinross Council Community Investment Fund

The Crook of Devon Village Hall have been awarded a £1000 grant from the Perth & Kinross Council Community Investment Fund towards the replacement of one of the radiators and associated repairs in the Hall's kitchen & cafe area.
